Just amazing, for being his first start in college Lagway seemed so poised and mature, you can tell this kid's got a very high football IQ, unlike AR that was a little reckless at the beginning, Lagway takes his role serious, lets hope he can keep it up, I'm very hopeful, I think he'll keep improving and learning from his mistakes if he keeps healthy the future is bright!!!!

as a Gator fan you can see how the team plays different for DJ. He has the full backing of the team and they know he gives them the best chance to win. The recievers love him. He throws them open and his arm talent allows the offense to open up. He can run and scramble which helps our line and makes the other team think twice about being out of place on there pass rush. Dj will have his ups and downs but he is the future and he can win us games and recruits will see this and will want to come play with him. Thanks for your tzke on Dj you did a awesome job. The receivers are catching the ball in stride as Lagway places it on a dime. Not sure how better defenders can stop that. Kid needs to play against better teams to learn and get even better. I'm a huge Mertz fan but I fully know his limits and how a defense like A&M's can shut him down, see the Miami game.

I am a total Gator fan ... just want to point out that the DE on that first throw who touched him after the throw...against an SEC team, that guy would have already knocked him off his feat before the throw...he needs to know that TAMU linemen won't be standing there hesitating....

The real question is "how is his decision making when an SEC defense blitzes or can he be accurate on the mid-range throws against them?". More importantly, the receivers could help him out with better breaks out of their cuts to create more space against better DB's.

He takes a 5 step drop from a shotgun. That puts him 9 to 10 yards behind the line of scrimmage. This is the reason he had time to throw.
