How to Keep Young Kids Calm When Getting COVID-19 Vaccine

It’s a monumental day as the FDA and CDC give the go ahead for kids ages 5 through 11 to get vaccinated. Now if they could just get some kids to overcome their jitters about getting shots. An estimated 63% of children have a fear of needles, also known as trypanophobia. One brave girl stayed calm by holding her friend’s hand. It’s one of the many tricks kids can use to overcome their fear, says child psychiatrist Dr. Vera Feuer.

School kids should not have to be forced to be vaccinated. I am currently vaccinated because I wanted to get vaccinated. I don’t think people should be forced to do it! it’s called freedom of choice people!!

I remember getting a shot when I was like 8 and the lady was like “it’s gonna feel like I’m pinching you, like this” and I felt a pinch on my arm and I was like “oh that’s not bad.” She had already given me the shot.
