Was filming "Mad Mal" doing some 3d when he lost it and down went his very nice 2.6mt 100cc Krill Katana 3D plane, if you listen at the end he explains what went wrong, to the bloke who built it for him. WARNING! there are a few swear words! but i think he was allowed to after what happened

He may be an experienced flyer. ..but that was pilot error all the way!!!

Experienced and skilled indeed. But still human. Maybe he was tired and hungover. Why is there so much ruthless judgement on him, crashing is 50% of the hobby. Shut your mouth unless you fly balls out 100% of the time and NEVER crash... only one person who does that. Quique somenzini. Haha
Good video chuck!
Ps i bought a sukhoi su29 because of your review. Cheers from Canada!

Hate to say it, but that was 100% pilot error... a rookie mistake.

#1 rule of thumb, don't 3D on a 3 blade prop...

You can see the rudder went the wrong way into that prop hang throwing the beast over and ultimately into the deck. Sad to see a huge beast go down like that.

Just because you have the money, does not mean you are professional at it

Bummer sorry to hear that! If your not crashing, your not having fun :)

3 blades is a no-no to do the hovering since it putting a stall in the motor make the whole plane stall. That's the caused of crash.

2:03 Full pro-spin input.

Rudder right, stall lever full back. Only reverses rudder after its too late.

Actually centering the sticks, full throttle, will often save it. An airplane can only stall with elevator input. So don't input elevator.

I thought he pushed it a bit too hard, trying to get the plane lower from 1:33 onward. No one wants to hover or torque roll up high versus right down low to the ground. Maybe initiate post stall maneuvers closer to your desired altitude? It's hard to get authority from your surfaces if you're keeping the throttle down to bleed off altitude. Thanks for the upload as always. I appreciate pilots willing to have their less than stellar performances posted so we all can learn from them. Regards

Ouch! I wonder why he is so mad - there is only maybe 2-3 hours worth of repairs on the landing gear and maybe the right wing.

Love how he spits the dummy ! I did the same on my one and luckily only crash ! I went electric for all my aircraft. Giant scale included ! 100% reliability

does not look too bad... I mean it could have been worse of a crash imo... at least from my perspective it does not look like a total write off. And @D Brock how about you post some 3D flying? let's see how amazing of a pilot you are. Herpa

You can repair that, I repaired my plane and it was in 50 pieces and flys also very good.

You can't actually get metal propellers for model planes, but a nylon one will do just as much damage. I know a few people who have big scars and have lost fingers. But at the end of the day I just get annoyed at people who take it too seriously. For instance, the flying club that I was in ran it like the Gestapo, not a fucking field where people fly their toy planes...

All in all Id say he got pretty lucky. Looks like a relative easy rebuild, happens to the best of em.
