Thanks again for your posts and sharing "real life" ADHD experiences and your medical background. I was finally diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 52. Nobody in the medical community I had ever seen over 40 years ever suggested ADHD. Gp's, psychiatrists, psychologists, always had me going down the wrong track. 37 years of having sleep initiation problems and chronic insomnia which were never resolved. Still have challenges with sleep. Over the years you learn to blame yourself for somehow "not feeling right in your head" and if you manange to be "financially successful " and work (non stop) because you use your hyper-focusing as control of your 100's of constant thoughts and ideas that flow through your head all the time (which over a lifetime of functioning this way, you think is normal for you even though its a torturous existence). Finally after my first dose of 30mg of Vyvanse, I still cannot believe the experience of finally having a drug help calm my brain. It especially helped with the emotional dysregylation and the constant highs and lows I would feel based on situations I was in.

The masks are also me. It is nature's intelligence. It's adapting in order to seek harmony. What could be better? ❤

Re: code switching. This is very common in the UK on a class and/or regional basis. Regional accents or patterns of speech that mark you out as working class or from the provinces will hold you back professionally and are often viewed subliminally as violent or crass, much like aave is

I am just now looking into adhd after a life of panic attacks, anxiety and depression. Antidepressant meds didn’t work for me, so they diagnosed me bipolar II. Those treatments really messed me up, but now after years of therapy my therapist and husband suggested looking into adhd. I really see myself portrayed in this video. Thank you for your content. Bingeing it all right now.

I just found your channel and I love your content! And - I was so excited when you mentioned your partner. It's not that cishet resources aren't good, but there's something about this coming from someone I share that part of my identity with that really resonates. Thanks for what you're doing!
