I did a report on this book in high school, I presented various facts about the book but made a point of emphasizing a particularly gruesome and crude reality of some of the violence in the book. I didn’t mean to make it seem like I was edging toward something, or creating a harsh way of thinking about something, but sometimes when I think back to that it might have come off that way and I kind of regret that.
