10). Dunnottar Castle: Located on the North East coast of Scotland 2 miles (3 km) south of Stonehaven. The castle has played a significant role in the history of Scotland due to its strong fortifications and strategic location. Famously it was used to hide the Honours of Scotland (Scottish crown jewels) from the clutches of Oliver Cromwell in the 17th century.
9). Culzean Castle: Located on the South West coast of Scotland and overlooking the Firth of Clyde. Famously, after 1945 an apartment at the top of the castle was given to General Dwight D. Eisenhower in recognition of his role as Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces in Europe during World War II.
