In this video, I review and explain Alien Worlds Season 1 on Netflix. I discuss the planets, the creatures and quality of the show. Alien Words focuses on four different planets that could exist in the Universe.

I enjoyed this series overall, but if there's one huge problem I had with how the worlds were presented, is that each planet seemed like it had three species at most... and that's it. Janus and Terra make sense, since that helps to illustrate how harsh and desolate the conditions were, but the nearly earth-like Eden, and all we get are fungi, predator monkeys, and moth-rabbits? It just seems unrealized. Still, nice to see a throwback to the speculative documentaries like Alien Planet on Discovery.

Also, if I ever get into writing sci-fi, this gave me a bunch of ideas to go for.

I gotta say, it wasn't as bad as I thought since some of the reviews said it was not so great. The information though is way too shallow and it would be nice if they went more in depth. More alien scenes would be even better, similar to other documentaries such as Alien Planet and Walking with Dinosaurs. I feel like they could've talked about more of the fauna/flora of the planets too. Hopefully season 2 will follow that sort of path.

I hope Netflix learns from the feedback this series got and show less of Earth and show more of the aliens and their ecosystems if there'll ever be a season 2. I'm thankful for the alien footage that is there, just wish there was more of a story within it. Atlas was my favorite planet and had the most alien variety.

The show mostly focuses on Earth. All alien planets only feature 2-3 different life forms.
To compare it to a video game: Its No Man's Sky when it was released.
It looks beautiful, but there is barely any content.

Despite ironically not showing enough of the aliens words, I enjoyed the series up until the four episode. It was a good episode, but I felt bad for that astrobiologist since the Arecibo observatory was destroyed a few days ago. Imagine being able to use it to create signals only for that dream to literally shattered into pieces. Granted, I think people stopped using it early November due to its condition and there are other dishes to transmit signals, but that particular scene did not age well at all.

More like how life coexists on earth and sometimes we show you alien life but when we do we reuse the same clip over and over again.

I watched it. Loved it BUT...I wish they would have gone more in depth into these ecosystems they focused on two maybe three species, explored more about how the environment impacts the physiology of the flora and fauna in the way Alien Planet did on Darwin IV. I hope for Season 2 they focus a bit more and show off even more different environments perhaps alternative biochemistry.

I'm a little disappointed in the series really, sure the graphics are great but its all pretty basic stuff aimed at 12 to 18 year olds I'd say. I would have liked more in depth discussion. Still, im glad they made it

I thought this was incredible, really imaginative and fascinating. Would have loved more alien scenes, feel like it was light on that front but otherwise, great!

I think they should totally bring up more ALIENS into it, I like that there's a comparison and explaination about what works here that could work out there, but they also just reuse a few CGI shots and flip them and it makes me want to see more of those alien planets, I think they could keep explaining more by using Concept Art, images of other alien species, flora and stuff, making more CGI parts are difficult and take many resources so images could also work here and there, maybe?

I was disappointed in the series aswell. The subject matter is infinitely fascinating, but the execution was lackluster. For a series called alien worlds, we get very little of the alien worlds and too much of the earth. The educational stuff is pretty basic and most people who are even slightly fascinated about the subject already know all this stuff. We also get way too much of people talking basic stuff, always pulling you out of the immersion that an alien planet's ecosystem should give you... it makes the alien stuff feel rushed and out of place, even though it should be the main topic of the episodes. They should have focused a lot more on the speculative stuff, as they seemed to have some very cool ideas of for creatures and the CGI was amazing. If you are interested in the subject, I recommend "Life Beyond" made by melodysheep, which are videos you can watch here on Youtube, and the YT channel Biblaridion that has a series called Älien Biosphere.

I would have loved this series more if they focuses more on the alien worlds and their life forms and LESS on the comparisons to life here on Earth.

I disliked seing the same scenes used again, two times is one thing, but three or four times just tells me they either ran out of budget or creativity.
For that matter no planet had just the one prey and one predator. The worlds were not inhabited to the degree you would expect. How they developed would also be interesting to know on a deeper level.

The show needs more information, but it's only three episodes of one season. I'm hoping there is more.

I still haven’t seen it but, as someone who loved alien planet as a kid, it looked like a kind of watered down version of that. I am going to watch it because some friends have said it isn’t bad as well as the fact that I can’t resist speculative evolution

The idea of differential life on other planets is so fascinating, this show was beautiful n I hope they release more seasons

This is the first time I watched on of your reviews. Greatly explained the plot, keep it up! My favourite planet was Eden, I think a whole season should focus on it.
