Stand-up comedian and actor John Leguizamo has starred on Broadway and in dozens of films, including “Romeo + Juliet” and “Moulin Rouge.” He recently became a first-time director with “Critical Thinking,” the true story of a group of underprivileged Latinx and Black teens who qualified for the National Chess Championship in 1998. He tells Ana Cabrera why education matters now more than ever before.
