Clean Your Coffee Travel Mug The Easy Way

Cleaning your travel mug for tea or coffee can be cumbersome given you cannot throw it into the dishwasher. But simply follow these steps:

1. Add dishwasher tablet to travel mug
2. Add hot water
3. Let the travel mug sit for around 1 hour
4. Rinse and remove any remaining debris with a brush

Just tried it, not a tablet but instead put 2 large tablespoons of Persil, fill cup to the top with boiling water leave for an hour then drain and rinse and wash cup and its literally like new.

Martin! Just gotta say THANK YOU. I have a Technivorm MochaMaster drip machine with a stainless steel carafe. I love the machine, but the shape of the carafe makes it impossible to clean properly - it looked 10x worse inside than your travel mug.
I tried this tip today, and it worked perfectly! It honestly looks brand new inside. Every bit of gunk was gone, with no scrubbing or effort at all. AMAZING.

I have two Yeti mugs that were gifted to me several years ago that looked exactly like this. I tried all the cleaning tricks and they were still stained. I was ready to pitch them and buy new until I tried this. The results are amazing and exactly the same as shown. It may sound funny, but generic denture cleaner tables are my go to. Cheap and they work! They also work wonders on water bottles!

I use Dollar Tree denture cleaning tablets. I put a couple in, fill with boiling water and walk away. I do the same for the lid. I put it in my 4 cup Pyrex measuring cup and put something on it to make sure it stays completely submerged. Looks brand new!

Works like a champ! Drop in a dishwasher pod, add boiling water, wait ten minutes and it's perfect!

This trick also works well to clean the kitchen sink and plug. Let the tablet dissolve in a good amount of water. Move the solution up the sides of the sink with a brush. Later when emptying sink, scrub plug and hole with brush. Rinse with clean water.

You can also put the plug and kitchen cloth in the dishwasher with a cycle of dishes, making sure cloth doesn't fall down to stop dishwasher arm from rotating.
