Welcome everyone! Handheld tripods are an important tool if you wish to vlog or record videos, especially if you’re doing it solo. You get numerous benefits for a small investment. They can help widen a tight lens, allow unique shots and enable more stable video footage. Another advantage is they keep oily and sometimes sweaty hands away from your smartphone, camera and lens! They are lightweight and also don't take up much space.

In this video, I go over three popular handheld tripods that I’ve used for the past three years with my Sony smartphones and cameras for vlogging and recording video. I discuss their features, how they’ve held up long term, and some positive and negative things about them. Perhaps it can help you decide which ones to go with for your own video recording needs. They also work with other smartphones and cameras in case you own other brands.

In order to keep things reasonably short, I’ve divided this long term review into into three parts, or videos. Each part will go over each tripod. For this video, Part 1, I discuss my experience with Ulanzi’s MT-16 "Two In One" tripod stick. So join me as we check out if it’s the right fit for yourself and Sony cameras (or others)!

This tripod can be used with any smartphone or camera, not just Sony. I've used them with Samsung flagship and iPhone smartphones.
