COVID-19: What is life like in hotel quarantine?

Kathryn Wainwright flew back to the UK from Abu Dhabi - straight into ten days hotel quarantine at Heathrow.

She describes what it's really like - and tells Sky's Kay Burley that she's actually been surprised.

Well I wouldn't bother asking politicians, celebrities, journalists, sportsmen and other VIPs.

They're exempt from such burdens of course.

My family of 3 are in a quarantine hotel in Gatwick, (thier last night tonight) after touch down they arrived to thier room after 11 hours, exhausted hungry, thirsty & found 3 tiny bottles of water! "Do i drink the water or make a cuppa with it" said my mum! Asking reception for water meant over an hour wait! a leg missing on 1 bed meant my 80 year old dad slept on floor for 2 nights as hotel did nothing about it till day 3, food of low quality! 10 minutes allowed out per day after day 2 pcr test no proper TV no fridge! Id say it describes a proper prison! Nowhere near good enough for the money charged!

What I not happy with is 1750 pound tariff, government need to see its not realistic for family who cannot afford to pay and are stuck abroad wanting to come home

I just arrived from Kenya and it was insane bus ride! 4 hours... the bus makes stops at different hotel booking in people the hotel where I will have my covid prison is alright! And staff were amazing Just a note that in 5 hotels the bus stopped I never saw a single female security! Hour hours and not even a bottle of water!... day 1 of covidprison
