Dude my worst nightmare of a patient.. I swear I even have a chart laid out & they still are “concerned”, but are in their PHONES or have their kids on the IPAD!!

A person with consistent mouth hygiene and a history of never having had cavities in specific areas doesnt have to get the yearly xrays imo or at least not that often as the average joe who has new cavities each year. Also my experience with xrays is that it often doesn’t show cavities in already filled teeth. Happened to me several times. I (43) never had a cavity on a new tooth since i am a teenager. It’s always been edge of filling cavities which almost never showed up on xrays.

Well buddy, if you can do your own “research” you can do your own “exam”.

The airplane radiation for one hour at 35000 feet is 3.5 mrem. A dental xray is 0.4 mrem. (Btw the annual terrestrial radiation a person is exposed to is 21 mrem)

So lets top off that 14 hr flight radiation with some dental xrays. Every little bit helps!

It is well-known that ionizing radiation can induce direct and indirect actions on biological cells. In the effects of direct ionization of cellular macromolecules, ionizing radiation can lead to a large number and different types of molecular damage in DNA by breaking the S–H, O–H, N–H, and C–H bonds of the molecules.

HES CORRECT! RADIATION IS CUMULATIVE IT ALL ADDS UP AND DOES NOT LEAVE THE BODY!
GET AN X-RAY IF YOU NEED ONE AND ALWAYS PROTECT YOURSELF WITH A LEAD COLLARED APRON EVEN IF THE TELL YOU YOU DONT NEED ONE BECAUSE TODAYS X-RAYS HAVE SO LITTLE RADIATION.

Had to get a CT scan on my head and the doctor was like I have to inform you that this scan may increase your risk of cancer I nodded and said so does MacDonalds so let’s do the CT. Everything was grand thankfully just bruising from a concussion that was taking months to heal.

I have a question. Why do dentist detect cavities under x rays? If they didn’t find it by looking at your mouth does it mean that they are small?
