My knees dont miss them but i used to enjoy refinishing them. Always pleasing to the eye to look the across the final coat of a floor that you really fretted over every detail, otherwise, its gonna show.

I've sanded probably close to 7000 sq ft and have never stained the floors. Oil based polyurethane will make any 100 year old floor look beautiful.

Yeah they need to make a varnish or whatever that is not too yellow that pretty white oak
