Cedar Planked Salmon

I tried this for the first time and used only salt and pepper on some old frozen salmon I had and I can't believe how great it turned out.  The cedar smoke really helps with salmon that's probably been in the freezer a little too long.

I love to cook salmon on cedar planks. I discovered that you can also have your local lumber yard cut cedar planks for you and it is a lot cheaper! Just ask for UNTREATED cedar and they will cut it to any size you want. You will soak them in water before you cook on them. I throw the planks away after I use them once. They are so inexpensive from the lumber

I've cedar planked other proteins before (I'm not a salmon fan), it adds a nice subtle flavor to food. excellent cook and fun video as usual. keep it up.

Nice Job, the cedar plank works really well on shrimp also. Give it a try. I'm going to order a T-shirt...All the Daddy cooks have to stay together...lol

I have yet to try planked salmon, but it sure did look great Phil. That salmon had really nice color on it and looked really tender & juicy. Fine job sir!!
