Good morning, James, reporting in from Eufuala. Our ASOS system has _still_ not been replaced after it was destroyed by the tornado that wrecked our airport on March 3, 2019. The temperature is 41 with high clouds at 0530. Ended up with a total of 1.87" yesterday and an even two inches for a storm total. I'm see an average wind of 3 mph and 10 mph gusts so the combination of wind and clouds has kept temperature from falling further. Saturday morning will be a different story, with clear skies and calm winds, The official forecast if for a low of 28, but the strong cold air advection should take us down to 25 to 26 degrees. We'll see if my guess is right.

This morning was very cold in Winston county. My husband, daughter and I got up at sunrise to go for a morning hike. We bundled up, but about 100 ft from the house we decided we had made a big mistake, turned right around and went home. This is too cold for us Bama people.
