Why Oasis Support Man City Over United | Noel & Liam Gallagher's Football Love

TRIBUNA | Premier League (EPL). The founding Oasis members Noel and Liam Gallagher are mad Man City fans. They should've been Man United supporters but their father wanted to piss off his Irish brothers and took his kids to Maine Roan instead of Old Trafford in 1971. While tunes from Definitely Maybe and What's the Story Morning Glory played all across the UK, Noel and Liam saw their team favourite team relegated from the First Division. Success would eventually come following the Sheikh's takeover, and since then the Gallaghers have always been around Man City: interviewing the players, presenting kits and trolling rival fans on social media. Watch this video to know all about the love story between the Gallagher brothers and Man City as Noel and Liam continue their own feud.

I've always had the theory that if you love your Dad you grow up supporting the same team as him and if you hate him you grow up supporting their rivals.

Not a power house in 1971? In 1970 they became the first English club to win domestic and European trophies in the same season. Does anyone know the history of City or do they just parrot lies from twitter from Surrey Utd and Liverpool fans?

This is the most positive thing they've ever said about United

Gallagher senior took Noel to his first game at Maine Road in 1971 and when growing up he experienced the drudgery of Man City never winning anything for the next 4 decades lol.He said Thanks for making me a City fan dad.

They don’t support Man Utd because they’re not from London

3:45 Kompany won City at least two titles, then, as he scored the only goal v Leicester one year. A screamer in the top corner, to maintain their lead and beat out my club by a point… again.

Makes me feel better he did it to United, too.

and now they're back together and the team is not doing that great, it's all in balance lol

Noel has said before they should be Utd fans really because of their Irishness and all their cousins supported United. But he said their dad for some sick reason took them to a City game at Maine Road for their first game and that was it for them then.

I mean, I by 'right' should be a united fan, but in fact, I support Rochdale because of my Grandad.

4:21 Aguero was a ‘moment’. Leicester was a a season of lesser moments, and the only club who were decent were Spurs. Pep’s first season, Klopp just taken over etc etc.

The only thing close to City that year was Arsenal needing to win by 2 at Anfield to go above them on goal difference and/or goals scored. They scored their 2nd in the 92nd minute, back when injury time was 2-3 mins. So both cases, they won with league with pretty much the last kick of the season. Only Arsenal’s was against the current champions, in one of the most iconic grounds in the world, against the team that they were up against for the title. City’s was against QPR who had already been relegated, albeit had some really good players. They did what Chelsea are doing today.

A 1-0 loss for Liverpool would’ve won them the title. That’s what probably helped Arsenal, as if Liverpool needed to win, like Arsenal, the mentality would’ve been different. Or even draw, but to be able to lose, that’s dangerous psychologically. City knew only a win would win them the title. Plus Liverpool won the title the year before, and the years after, but that was their last one until 19/20, 30 years later.

Ironically, United won the title the season after losing that one in the last second, (and the season before, too) like Liverpool, and now haven’t won it for 11/12 years, and don’t look like they can for at least 3-5 at best. Liverpool’s and United’s dominance and the end of their dominance mirror each other almost perfectly. Wonder if City will do the same.

I bet they're glad that City was decided for them now.

I'm one of those fake Utd fans because my father was a fan and my son is now.
But, I actually don't get it? I'm not from Manchester so, why would I actually give a fk?
