there’s literally NEVER going to be music made without having certain similarities to something in some aspect. if it doesn’t, it’s probably not a great song. there’s a certain arrangement, rhythm, progression, key, tempo, halftime, double time, etc variations to alter or use to inspire other riffs or elements in new creations. or blending genres entirely.

Both songs are simple. No copying involved. They both just run up and down a scale. They just went through a similar scale, they're not even the same key.

Nirvana copied the shit out of plenty of songs, but I think they did each of those songs (about a girl, Polly, etc.) tons of justice. They Nirvanafied the rhythm and sometimes the lyrics and I love the result
