First Look Inside the New Coronavirus Hospital in Wuhan

A new emergency hospital for the treatment of coronavirus has been completed in just eight days in Wuhan, China.

Here’s a first look inside Huoshenshan Hospital, which is now open and ready to receive patients infected with the deadly pneumonia virus.

The new 1,000-bed structure is modelled on an emergency hospital built during the height of the SARS outbreak in Beijing. It will be staffed with 1,400 military medics.

A second emergency hospital with 1,600 beds is due to open in Wuhan in a matter of days.

Dude putting up a prefab modular building in this day of age is not much of a deal, but have this place fully functional in 10 days is a real marvel. Medals should be given to the project management especially the logistics team. This hospital is a much needed tool to combat and contain this nasty bug. Congrats!

lets do math, they said that there was 3 shifts in 24h and it is done in 8 days. so it means 1 guy worked 64h in 8 days.
there was 7000 workers and each of them worked those 64h. so 7000X64h is 448000 men hours.

This nothing new showing Chinese speed at doing things. If you've been to any Chinese restaurànts, buffet or not, then you've already seen their speed and attentiveness àt piçking/ removing empty dishes while you're still eating. Kinda rude to some people not used to it but thàt's one of the things how they operate.. includes precision, and no time wasted.

The reporter failed to show the special design and facilities of the infection control. There is underground and above ground permanent waste treatment system. All the rooms are negative pressure isolation rooms. And the air is treated. Special layout and facilities to prevent cross contamination such as separate traffic between visitors and hospital workers; the setup of clean, semi clean and infected areas. The ground is thermo insulated, bar reinforced permanent concrete. Although each room is prefab but they are under heavy steel frames. This is a permanent facility. With the change of the environment and the fast mutation of the virus, China recognizes that facility such this is necessary even after this crisis. As a matter of fact, Wuhan has recently built two of such facilities, together they can accommodate 2300 patients.
