I really like Final girl, its combination of theme and mechanics work. Especially an element of randomness and chaos in a game about masked killers hunting people, like this could ever have been a dry euro set collection game. And good solo only games, not games with bolted on solo modes, will always catch my eye. Let me know who your fav final girl is below otherwise crazy Ralph will be popping over to tell you how doomed you are (its a lot, a lot of doom)

I love this game. Picked up the core box and two "movies" at GENCON this year. I'll no doubt blow the budget on everything they put out eventually (including the minis) but so far my favourite is the "Maple Lane" Nightmare on Elm Street homage. The wake/sleep dynamic is really interesting, and there was a moment of genuine chills when trying to wake up towards the end of the game. Great stuff!

Thanks for this. In my 2 short years in the solo boardgaming hobby since the Pandemic, I have gone full circle. I got started backing the usual AAA behemoth campaigns. Now that those campaigns have started delivering, I realized that so much space is wasted on 4+ boxes for each game. I know prefer games that can consolidate the core and expansions into a single box like Dune Imperium, Fallout, Gaia Project etc and smaller solo box games like One Deck Dungeon, Mini Rogue, Unbreakable and Final Girl.

I ended up cancelling a LOT of KS after my first ones delivered and I'm now consolidating my entire collection to fit in a 8 cube Kallax.

Most times, less is more.

Research has shown that an abundance of choice actually decreases happiness. This is especially true for individuals who are always hunting for a better solution/product/experience instead of ending the hunt when a satisfactory option is found.

For those interested, it’s easy to look up and read how this phenomena works and is observed in MRI scans.

The ideas or actions of culling, curating or creating the most well rounded small game collection often stem from the same place. I think the core idea is that some of us could be happier or maybe feel lighter if we focused less on the chase for new games and realized that our most precious resource - time - could be better enjoyed playing our favourite games.

I was lucky to find a copy of this at my FLGS but still want to add Camp Happy Trails and then the Ridley and Outpost packs to probably complete my set.

Really enjoy the boiler room mechanic as something different on Maple Lane and the Poltergeist at Creech Manor feels like a completely different game. Designers did a great job of making variety of unique experiences that nail the theme.

It seems cool to me. It is the first game I have backed on kickstarter. I ordered it when the kickstarter for season 2 was up so I have to wait until all of it is produced and shipped to get both seasons of Final girl. It seems like an enjoyable solo game.

I love Hostage Negotiator and have everything for that game, so it was a pretty easy decision to go all in on this one with the first kickstarter campaign. I played it a few times and liked it (although I thought it was quite a bit easier than HN), but I ended up selling it pretty quickly. The main reason for that was that it just took up way too much shelf space. I guess their storage solution, with each final girl/killer combo coming in it's own VHS sized box, was cool looking and all, but put together it was pretty much the biggest game that I own. Like I said, fun game, but I've never regretted selling it.

I liked hostage negotiator a fair bit but the dice just ruined it for me. You can do everything right and then just roll poorly and get crushed. I need a bit more control.
