In this weeks video, we spend 48 hours on an insane Vancouver food tour. Is it Canada's best food city? From local chains to cult classics, from Asian food to Indigenous Canadian, we try as many things as we possibly can!

We begin our day at Granville Island Public Market. For our first stops, we decide to check out JJ Bean for some local coffee, followed by Lee's Donuts and Stuart's Bakery for some sweet treats.
We then move onto some savoury items, including maple salmon at Longliner Seafood, and a Montreal smoked meat bagel at Siegel's Bagels.
After exploring the market some more, we decide to head over to Vancouver's Chinatown. Our next location is Kam Wai Dim Sum, where we tried Ha How dumplings, and a delicious BBQ steamed bun.
Next, we make our way towards Gastown - but not before stopping for a quick bubble tea at Bobarun along the way.
From here, we went to Japadog, a popular local chain, for a Yakisoba Japadog.
By this point, we felt a bit parched, and decided to pop into The Moose Vancouver for some rock music and cheap beers. After this quick break, we continue on with our food journey. Our next stop is at Sushi Sonoya, where we try a B.C. Roll, and a Wild Salmon Roll.
To finish off our first day of eating, he head over to Duffin's Donut's - a cult favorite among locals. Here, we try their famous fried chicken and donut's.
Day two begins at Shameless Buns, for some Filipino style street food. After trying out three of their menu items, we head to Leopold's Tavern to kill some time, and to grab some happy hour beers until the next location is open.
Our next stop is Salmon N' Bannock, where we try Canadian Indigenous food for the first time. We grab our food to go, and head to Charleston Park, to enjoy our food with a view.
Our 48 Hour culinary journey ends at The Burrow, where we grab some vegetarian Mexican food.

We had such a blast in Vancouver! Especially Granville Market was an awesome place to eat at. We wish we would have had more time, but we made the most of the time we had in the city! Let us know what we should try next time we are able to visit! Do you know a hidden gem that we missed? As always, thanks for watching! In our next video we will be exploring a city in the US. Make sure you don't miss that! 😊 - Brandon & Anja

Some of the cuisine you’ll find throughout British Columbia (not just Vancouver) is amongst some of the best in North America. Definitely the best seafood in the world. If you can ever get ahold of a B.C. Spot Prawn, you’ll need a steak knife - they can get that big 😊

Glad you tried Duffins its a staple and the best place I think for chicken and donuts

Your vid popped in my feed and I figured I would give it a go. Right away I could pick out Brandon's east coast/maritime accent, albeit mild, so I was surprised you have never had candied salmon before. Didn't realize that was more of west coast thing. Glad you caught the last of the good weather while you were here, cuz it sure starts to turn about a month or so afterwards. Liked and subbed.

You did fantastic! Definitely hit some of my favourite spots. The Burrow has gone downhill since the rebrand took off quite a few menu items. For affordable delicious vegetarian/vegan food I definitely prefer Meet on Main (or any of the Meet locations). Another 24 hr bakery to check out if you come into town late with several locations is Breka.

You guys hit great spots. Wonderful imagery, one of the best food videos on Vancouver, our home city. We sure miss the food variety available there as we travel the world. We were spoiled there. As you can see, very expensive.

chinatown is in Richmond now. vancouver chinatown is only a vestige, there used to be streets of resteruants and curio shops.

The cake donut an old-fashioned donut in US. I prefer them. Too funny - schmaltz is chicken fat. You put a smear of cream cheese on. Love the steam powered clock. Wild salmon "maybe it was a stripper in a past life". LOL Wild salmon is less fatty because it's active. Filipino place's food looked amazing. Lots of good food. Thanks for entertaining me on a cool rainy Oregon evening.

My dad was a commercial fisherman and we mostly only ate wild sockeye salmon as it's the healthiest omega 3 and disease free. Maybe you can try some Lebanese food next time you're here 😋. Thanks for sharing your reviews 👍💕

My absolutely favourite donut at Lees is the Butter Crunch. I think that's probably the "crunch" in your mermaid donut

Commercial Drive in the day was all Italian and it was fantastic. Italian shoe stores, restaurants. It all started to change after the 80’s. The restaurants were fabulous. You should have tried the restaurant at the Italian Culture Centre off of Grandview Hwy. Great food.

Awesome eats! We were just in Vancouver and I didn’t have enough time to hit up the vegetarian spot you went for Mexican food, but I’ll give it a try next time!

Lived in Vancouver for nearly 20 years, really great place to live. Was better in 90s imo before it became so expensive.

I lived there in 2010 / 2011 - it was one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Every time I go back though, it’s sketchier. The voters are so empathetic to the addicts that it’s kind of made big swaths of the city unsafe. I don’t have answers, but trying to stop the flow of drugs into the city and putting resources into getting people clean couldn’t hurt.

For donuts in vancouver, 49th Parallel & Lucky's Donuts (they are a bit more premium, the ones featured were good choices too). For Asian food, Crystal Mall near Metrotown in burnaby might have been an interesting choice and accessible by transit, Richmond is better for chinese food. Vancouver and the Lower Mainland really is spoiled for choice. There are some fantastic gelato places in the city too.
