Trump says he's optimistic that the GOP will take back Congress in 2022 midterm elections

Former President Trump said at the Republican National Committee's donor retreat over the weekend that he's optimistic Republicans will retake Congress in 2022 and reclaim the White House in 2024 and reiterated falsehoods about voter fraud in 2020. A new report from the Center for Election Innovation and Research, first obtained by CBS News, finds that more than 70% of states offer all voters access to a mail-in ballot and early voting. CBS News political reporter Adam Brewster joins CBSN AM to discuss.

I’m an Independent voter. I have voted for Democrats and I have voted for Republicans and I have never voted a straight ticket. I have always voted a split ticket because I feel there are good politicians on both sides of the isle as I vote for a person, not a party. It’s the person I select who makes the decisions, not the party. I may listen to a Congressional or Senate candidate and I like some of the things they say, If they come out and say; “I support a Democratic or Republican President that I don’t like or support, then I don’t vote for them.” This tells me that when he/she gets into office, this President that I don’t support will have more influence on them for making decisions than if they use their own brain and common sense to make those decisions. Instead of a two party system, I’d rather see only a one party system where people vote for a person for President, a Vice President, etc. and the person with the majority votes wins the elections. To me there would be less chance of corruption and the voters would have their say.
