I must say, you've helped to open my eyes to a very important question and a stark reality. The question, what does Christianity have to do with European people's, specifically Celtic folk? I never particularly looked at Christianity from that perspective, and I've never looked at my Celtic origins from that perspective either until recently. Btw.. in case anyone is interested today December 22nd is actually the winter solstice.. at around midnight Greenwich Mean Time the Sun left Sagittarius and went into 0 degrees Capricorn..
0° Capricorn and 0° degrees Aries are the two solstices ... that's why the date of the solstice can be off by a day and not be the same as it was the year before . So happy Solstice on today Saturday December 22nd.. I know a lot of news and media Outlets said it was yesterday but yesterday the sun was still in Sagittarius

Tearing down the old Gods before you revisit them really reminds me of Jung's Red Book. Just wanted to thank you for recommending the Emma Wilby's academic book on familiar spirits, I think you recommended it in Druid Code, I'm finishing the last few chapters and it really is a great read from a very rational stand point.
I'm still back and forth on the whole what some call the "Out of the broom closet" thing, which I am, for the most part, but it always comes up in primers and interviews that these kinds of things should be kept confidential. And I suppose to a point your more personal experiences should be. The times I have shared with folks have been met with mixed results.
The Christian answers have always been come to church, which just lead me to very hollow experiences.
My friends believe me but just say call it blessings and move on, forget about it and pursue no further.
Wicca just isn't for me as I had a strange experience upsetting people for using the word 'female'. That was a real tell about who this particular group of people were. I think they're (the ones I met not everyone) just new age types who think it's fun to dabble in the old ways.
Anyway I'm probably over sharing. Thanks for doing what you do.

That's a really interesting take and very enlightening. I hadn't thought of that before. I use magic for healing and understanding first and foremost, then for guidance and divination to further understand and help make certain choices. And there are magical occurrences and spiritual experiences that happen with bonding and connection with others and such, happening naturally. I would never dream of using it to harm even my greatest enemy, and believe me, I have one, someone who abused me in very disgusting ways. I don'T want to hurt him. I might despise him, but my focus is to heal and to grow. I cannot do that if I'm bent on revenge or anything like that. And you're absolutely right, Thomas, it's very healing. There is an increase in healing that is occurring in this world. Not just around each of us, and I've felt it. As I heal, others around me heal also. The healing is expansive.

I consider myself a "truther" but I approach from a humanitarian and mystical point of view rather than a Christian point of view. I don't believe everything I read, but I definitely think something's wrong in the state of skidmarks. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

Enlightenment itself can seem to have different origins but ultimately it's about self-liberation and freedom from oppression and Wars .. self-determination to be come who you want and have the opportunity to make your dream come true ... it's knowing you yourself are already an enlightened being who has forgotten this .. and needs to clear away the clouds and residues . As a 4 yr. old in my Catholic church on Christmas with my Protestant mother pointing to a crucifixion scene and asking me if I liked the man on the cross... I was horrified when she explained to me what we were seeing, I felt her own sense of irony .. she too thought there was something wrong .. she didn't have to say it.. I saw the look in her eyes and I heard it in her voice, I shook my head a hard NO and said " I don't like it ".
I have never liked that repulsive image . And I never liked many things about Christianity.. but I do believe in the Christ consciousness.. which might considered new age .. but for some people can have a different meaning .To me it's about inner tranquility and having a clear conscience that one is not intentionally harming others and is trying to be a decent human being ..to me its not that sappy and dangerous "anyone can shit on me " nonsense... as someTibetan Buddhists know, there's a difference between compassion and what they call IDIOT compassion . Some of those Lamas are a true enigma, compassionate bad asses with a grounded sense of humor who if they have to, can humiliate a person who is so arrogant and stupid they won't even know at first they have been effed with .
Whether drawing inspiration from a deity like hindu Brihaspati for writing poetry, or asking Jesus to help get them out of hell when they feel that's where they are, makes sense to alot of people.. hell, I don't even care if Jesus never actually existed. They become real, It's their spirit, the essence of their energy that sometimes facilitates pulling us up to our higher selves, like water seeking its own level .. and a different path to enlightenment .So many of us feel the same way about the Stars, the Moon, the Sun and clouds, the rain, lakes, the oceans, fire, the winds, the woods, animals and people... we get inspiration from their own inherent energy and beauty .. so much to take delight in and to heal ourselves . It's wonderful Thomas that we are living in a Time when more and more people are doing just what you said.. they're finding the passages in those books and whatever in those ideologies they feel a correspondence with or that to which they aspire and are not letting the dogma dictate their lives.. instead it is more of a buffet to feed the soul instead of allowing some rigid monolithic box imprison us .
We have so many people nowadays working at freeing themselves of their own darkness ... probably more than ever before doing this. I think this is why we also have so many people going through the Dark Night of the Soul nowadays.. it's not easy for everyone to come out fully into the light on their own without the help of a shaman . and some people can really get stuck there... they need someone to help navigate them out of that matrix .I enjoyed listening to you Thomas.. I always like your your spirit, you're a good soul, big-hearted and brave.. people can feel your generosity .. I'm really struggling right now otherwise I would buy some of your books ... but I do tell people about you and refer them to your channels
