While Preston did in fact deserve it and it is terrifying, the one thing that always gives me chills is Bill's LAUGH afterword. It's probably the most terrifying one he's ever done...

As disturbing as the actual sight is, nothing disturbs me more than Preston's scream. It's so... real.

Say what you want about Preston, but Pacifica didn't deserve to see that!

It was also confirmed that the reason that Bill did that wasn't just for shits and giggles, it was also because Bill was annoyed/offended at Preston's arrogance in thinking he could gain Bill's favor so easily.
