What is the HACK MUSIC THEORY show?
Hi, we are Kate Harmony and Ray Harmony, AKA Revolution Harmony. Every Monday you’ll find us here, sharing our top-secret songwriting hacks with you, for free. So whether you’re a beginner or a professional, a songwriter or a producer, these hacks will have you writing great songs in no time.

Why are we giving away our top-secret hacks, in this ultra-competitive music industry? Because a world with better music, is a better world.

►Online Apprenticeship:

Who is RAY HARMONY?
Ray is an award-winning music lecturer and the author of the critically-acclaimed book series, Hack Music Theory. After decades of teaching ‘popular’ and ‘classical’ music theory, Ray created a unique crossover method for songwriting, which we call Hack Music Theory. We use this method to write all our music. Ray’s songs have even featured Serj Tankian (System of a Down), Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine), Kool Keith, and many more.

On top of all the knowledge there is 2 great great tips i got from the book:
1) just because you make EDM doesn't means you don't need music theory.Do yourself a favor learn music theory it'll greatly improve your music.
2) this one is probably the greatest i remembered and it always hold true : if it sounds shitty (you didn't use that world but the idea is there) on the piano don't waste your time fixing it on your synth fix it on the piano or discard it.

I think the antonym of "height" should be "lowth".

First off, loving your channel. I only discovered ya'll two days ago. I have a question: I like to scratch and I'm still purely analog. When I play a 99.9bpm scratch tools record it still plays in time with an aprox. 131bpm beat. What's the theory of the relationship between these bpms?
