When I was a little 8 year old kid, would make these using the recipe out of the 1956 Betty Crocker Cookbook.

I love popovers. Besides slathering with butter and jam, one of my favorite ways to serve them is to cool them and then stuff with curried chicken salad with nuts, grapes or raisins. Terrific brunch... Impressive and so FANCY!!!

I really appreciate how your videos are short and concise. So many videos now are long.

Suggestion for you; place your popover pans on the open door of your dishwasher then spray with oven spray. No messy oil everywhere! Love your tips in this recipe.

Yorkshire pudding recipe that has worked for me:

1 egg
1oz plain flour
2.5fl oz milk

makes 2-3 yorkshires and just increase to make more!

I love making popovers! I usually add cheddar and black pepper to mine, though I've found there's definitely a delicate balance between being cheesy and losing height. Going for a fine grate helps, but it's super easy to make it just not rise. (Then again, if you just want an eggy cheesy bake that works too!)

I had never heard of popovers before, (I am in the UK) but as others comment, they look and sound great. As a child, 60 years ago, we used to enjoy Yorkshire puds with roast dinners for sure, cooked in oil, not necessarily dripping, but also with butter and sugar or golden syrup for dessert sometimes too. I don't think we would have added butter to the batter - too decadent! Lol

I made this on 8-5-2024 and while they didn’t turn out looking like yours, they fell and were a little burnt because I have a new over that I don’t know that well yet, the flavor was still there and they were a hit with my family. Thank you. I will be trying these again as I learn my oven.
