guys... today I went to my local guitar center. I tried EVERY SINGLE STRAT IN THE STORE. Squier to Fender Elite.

The 50's special edition was BY FAR my personal favorite, has the awesome "quack" that a good vintage strat has. If you're looking for a strat, I have to HIGHLY recommend these guitars! Amazing!

I have to say, the 50's at least (they didnt have any 60's) definitely does NOT have "medium jumbo" frets. They are incredibly small and thin (my preferred!); so either you guys in england got that special or it was a misspeak/misread of the tech specs, or you were given the wrong ones to begin with lol

Picked up the Special Edition 50's fiesta red about a month ago.  This thing is awesome!  Been playing for 24 years now, and this thing nails the vintage sound and vib!  Didn't know what to expect from a MIM, but I continue to be extremely impressed with the playability and craftsmanship.

Hi James,
The 2nd one is called Rangoon Red, and the last one is Lilac. These were a limited run, and no longer available though.

I have one of the 60's in "Lilac" and it has vintage-style frets, not medium/jumbo. it's one sweet sounding and playing guitar. It really nails that 60's Strat sound.

Okay, what exactly are the FRETS on this? You say Med/Jumbo, but I called Fender and they said vintage frets, which are very thin. I have them on my Classic 50's, and they did not wear well. If this had Med/Jumbo, I'd be on it in a heartbeat in the Jetstream Blue!

Hold up wait a sec..Mine has the vintage fret wire not the medium jumbo fret.  Mine is the Daphne blue model.  Are you sure yours have the medium jumbo wire or possibly just mis spoke?  Thanks

What is the difference between the Classic Series, Classic Player and this Special Edition?

Can anyone confirm whether these have the vintage or medium jumbo frets? Even shops don't seem to know.

I think the custom shop fat 50's blow away those Mexican pickups, they sound muddy to me and the Custom shop Fat 50's on the American Standards just blow those away in my opinion. The American Standards are a big step up from any Mexican Strat you'll ever buy IMO. They are much better made with a lot more attention to detail and the necks are far superior on the American Standards IMO
