If you're traveling/doing adventure, the Ace Pro is probably best as it can do everything, including go under water. I dont like using my phone as a primary vlogging camera as I'm OCD about my phone's battery life. Osmo Pocket 3 is best if you're not going to get wet or doing under water stuff. But if I had to just buy one, it would be the Ace Pro.

I don't travel a lot necessarily, but I've always wanted a camera that I could take with me without having to worry about it getting damaged or stolen. The Pocket 3 fits this perfectly. It shoots 10-bit log footage and has good stabilization. So, I can leave my FX30 at home when traveling, knowing I can get decent footage from the Pocket 3. Thanks for the comparison. I upgraded to the 15 Pro Max in part because of your videos on it. I love that it’s a device I have in me all the time. I’ve captured plenty of great videos of the family that will last forever. That’s the advantage of the phone to me. It’s always on me so I’ll actually use it.

Ace pro has removable batteries, better day light video than pocket 3… low light yes p3 is slightly better but nothing significant..the water proof and removable batteries make this a clear choice..ace pro….i don’t think i can compare iPhone to these. Great video…..one more thing insta ace pro app destroys DJI crappy app. 😊

what a detailed review.. I own an ace pro and iPhone 15 pro max, good to know that ace pro is a strong contender against iPhone as an action camera. 8K looks amazing. I will mostly do night shots and timelapse shots with ace pro and other regular scenery shots with iPhone.

Excellent and rational comparison. I would only comment that the gimbal on the Pocket 3 goes beyond stabilisation by greatly increasing creative possibilities, and is a great aid to shots where you want to include yourself without getting someone else to do the shooting. It is the usual thing - choose the right tool for the job. And if you can pop all three of these tools into your little camera bag, well, lucky you!

For daytime videos, I prefer iPhone. For moving filming, I find it better to turn off the Action Mode and put a good gimbal.

Comparison we’ve been all waiting for! :D Thank you. I have a question, regarding Pocket 2 and Pocket 3 zoom, I thought they’re both digital zoom, what was the spec of Pocket 2?
On another note, for Pocket 3, it seems to me that 4K120 is pre-slowed to 30p and 4K 100p is pre-slowed to 25p, not just 25-24 as you say

I am thinking of buying another camera to just focus on video instead of using my iPhone.I mainly travel and would like to be able to record myself when I go diving or hiking. i've watched many pocket 3 reviews online but it seems like a gear for vlogging only, would ace pro be a better fit as a more versatile camera?

How does iPhone non-pro res, standard video compare to Pocket 3 normal mode? Pro res takes too much storage for me.

I own the pocket 3 and I have decided to sell it. While it is amazing, it feels a bit of a nuisance to use in comparison to my main camera and phone, especially with the ergonomics, it feels delicate. The video quality is also way above it's class, but only in perfect lighting. For these two reasons I think I will sell mine.
