OK they show a fire burning up to 17K acres, mention that it's triple digit temps but show people evacuating in the rain. Is this even the same story

The fire is still here bc im in salt lake city and i can see the smoke in the air and it think california is 5 hours from my house 😢

Why would they let this fire get out of hand, when they became aware it was only about 500 acres.

Why this keep happening? Don't they know that every year there is fire. No management to prevent fire?

The firefighters are cutting down trees in order to curtail the fire by depriving it of fuel. These forests should have been "managed" with selective cutting and fire breaks over the last 50 years. But they weren't because environmentalists don't want any intrusion like loggers or forest managers into the forests.
