The crash of the Turkish lira has not only hit average citizens hard. Even the rich are now feeling the pinch. For many of them, the only way out of the crisis is to sell their properties. Dozens of luxury villas, or 'yalis,' in Istanbul are currently up for sale, for bargain prices, and wealthy Arabs are eager to snap them up. The yalis have an added bonus: Turkish citizenship is included in the price.

People who complain about not being able to afford these homes will *NEVER* be able to afford them. You know why? Cuz they're sitting on their lazy butts complaining about not having money to buy a mansion. People who have the potential to become wealthy never sit and complain and wait for someone to gift things to them, they WORK for it. They use their time to make their dreams come true.

Istanbul property as an investment?! Not for me! I've been to Istanbul twice and love the city and culture, when I win the lottery I want a modest yali, not as an investment but to live there part of the year and soak up the local color! It's a dream!!

The beautiful city of Istanbul is being handed over to the Arabs. The Turks and the Europeans should preserve this city as it's a vital part of both European and Turkish history and culture.

Can’t see Turkey recovering with the current leader, like catching a falling knife buying property in Turkey

With that price, I would buy an estate in the US and start a business

You can’t buy these with the local currency . Euro or $ gets you a seat at the table

Had to run that by million euro?? Really??
I hope it comes with 10 acres of lush land, a horse stable with horses, groundkeepers, and a cabana for the heated 10 ft elongated pool.

The Lira will only recover when the government stops devaluing it and that is not likely.
