In a sneak preview of tomorrow's episode of The Stevie Richards Show - WWE RAW's debut on Netflix on January 6th was notable for a variety of reasons, from Liv Morgan losing her WWE Women's World Title to Rhea Ripley, to Roman Reigns defeating Solo Sakoa and being crowned Tribal Chief by The Rock, to CM Punk defeating Seth Rollins in the main event. But all anyone seems to be talking about is Hulk Hogan (accompanied by Jimmy Hart and American flag) getting booed out of the building. Hulk Hogan already had his controversies, but why would WWE bring out one of Donald Trump's biggest supporters onto WWE RAW in Los Angeles, which is possibly the most liberal state in the United States? Did Triple H set up Hulk Hogan to fail? What happens to Hulk Hogan's future bookings in WWE now?

Taker openly endorsed Trump and got a huge pop. It’s not politics in this case. It’s Hogan.

Hogan got booed because most of us now understand that there is literally nothing sincere about him. If he's in front of a camera, he's lying to you.

Undertaker had Trump on his podcast. Triple H has had a connection to Trump for years. They don't get booed. I don't think it's politics as much as it is Hogan's racist comments and the fact that he is a habitual liar. That's why people booed him.

As a black man that loves pro wrestling, Neither the man or his character has done enough to show that he's not a racist anymore. Taker is a conservative and no one booed him

Hogan burned a lot of people with his creative control contract, the racist statements he was recorded saying, and the fact that every word out of his mouth is a lie is the reason he was boo'ed. The trump endorsement was just the frosting on the douche cake

Part of it may have been political. But Hogan's real personality has been on full display for years now. A constant liar, cheated with a friend's wife, racist, etc. People are done with him. Oh yeah, and Undertaker, another wrestler known for supporting Trump, got nothing but cheers.

Hulk Hogan was getting booed at WrestleMania a few years back too and that was in Florida. It's more to do with him being a crappy person.

Tone-deaf, Stevie. Hulk Hogan is a horrible person, and literally everyone knows it. The boos weren't just about his political stance.

You have to remember, there’s a Generation of people that knows Hogan as that racist old man, due to the racist tapes that leaked in 2015. It doesn’t help that he did nothing to fix that perception either. Keep in mind, he got booed in Tampa of all places a few years ago, it isn’t just a Cali thing. He’s not welcome at all in this day and age. It’s the bed he made

If it was purely political then Undertaker would’ve been boo’d out the stadium as well.

I think Hulk Hogan has 40 years of baggage that have caused wrestling fans to not like him.

How can you tell Hogan is time he opens his mouth

The 80s and 90's and even the first few years of the 2000's only filled the well up with so much respect.
He dried it out with insincerity, lies and racism.

He can't expect to ride that wave forever just because he was a hit 40 years ago, yet he's been a dick since.

Another reason he was booed is people are simply tired of the corny "real American, bodybuilder posing, shirt ripping" gimmick. It's a bunch of lies. He discriminates, abused steroids, abused his power & the shirt thing is literally a pre-made tear. Ironically, nothing about the "real American" is real.

The event being in LA probably played a part in him getting booed, but I think it was more that people know about his constant lies, his racist remarks, and the fact that many people say he generally isn't a good person. Its about time he got called out for his actions. RIP Macho Man. He told us all along that Hogan was a POS.

I don't think his political beliefs got him booed out the building. His lying racist attitude and lack of accountability finally caught up with him

I actually don't think Hogan got booed over his politics. As others have pointed out, Taker also endorsed Trump. So did Vince McMahon, by the way, and he never got booed when he appeared on television. The simpler explanation is that Hogan got booed for the same reason he got booed at Wrestlemania 37 (which, you'll recall was in Hogan's home state), which boils down to the racist comments he made years ago. Moreover, over the past few years there's been a throng of videos on social media exposing Hulk Hogan's lies (including on this channel), and how generally scummy of a person he's been over the years (even the "Ohhhh, you got me, brother!" ordeal became a meme). I bet there's not a single person reading this comment who hasn't watched at least 3 longform videos on Hogan's lies. While I don't think the Donald Trump endorsement did Hogan any favors, it's probably not why Hogan got booed. Hogan got booed because he has exceptionally bad character.

2:53 then why didn't Taker get booed?

It's well documented the character Hulk Hogan is the exact opposite of the real life Terry Bolea. The man said that the kid paralyzed in an accident caused by his son must have had karma coming. There was the incident with him dropping the N bomb in regards to his daughter dating a black man. He did this while screwing his best friends wife. Then, there is the documented history of lies, dating back to Hulk denying using steroids when he was on The Arsenio Hall show. This past Monday he came out in full good guy Hulk Hogan gimmick and fans called bullshit. Politics, I'm sure played some part in the negative reception, but not nearly as much as the man's history.

I think Stevie's half right. The politics and demographics are certainly AN issue, but i dont think they were the ONLY issue.
