Fenway Sports Group, more commonly known as FSG, the current owners of Liverpool, have announced that they are ready to sell the Merseyside club.

The American sports conglomerate purchased the Premier League giants back in 2010, and you have to say it has been a pretty successful period for them. Under their ownership, Liverpool won the Premier League for the first time, got to 3 Champions League finals, winning one, and won a couple domestic trophies.

But in spite of what you might term a successful period, the majority of the Liverpool faithful were always calling for FSG to leave the club because they were considered to be a little too close-fisted for the modern game. And their support of the European Super League didn’t do much to endear them to the fans.

Anyway, following the recent announcement from FSG, it seems like those fans are finally going to get their wish.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe won't buy. He already said in an interview he is not interested in buying a Premier League club anymore and all of his focus will go on Nice to make it a top 3 Ligue 1 club and play the Champions League. It makes sense considering the "Big 6" of Ligue 1 (Paris, Marseille, Monaco, Lyon and the 2 other spots being took by either Lille, Rennes or Nice) is less big and can be accessible with a little money injection. That will make Nice have a big budget and a competitive team in the next 2 years, and the Champions League will be easier to access.
