80% Charging Limit Not Working??

On my iphone 16 pro model it stays at 80 but when I reset the phone it shows 100. I couldn't find any information about it. Finally I saw your video and everything became clear. God bless you.

Thank you so much bro. This was very helpful. Faced the same issue in my 16 pro max. Set the limit to 80% but it charged beyond 90. Got scared and switched off and On it again. It showed 97%. Planned to contact service center for this. Luckily I got this video. Thanks a lot man!

Thank you! This was helpful. I was worried about why it went beyond 80% it reached to 81% then i switched off and turned on and saw the battery to be at 84% so this entire thing about battery calibration seems to be true ✌️

Thanks for this! I was confused why it went up. However, I always tend to stop the charge when it goes past, it doesn't reach 100%. The battery still calibrates that way right?

iOS 18.0.1 changed the Battery settings menu. Instead of "Charging Optimization, " it says "Charging." Tap on that, and that page is significantly different than the one shown in the video. I'd post screenshots if YT would let me.

I had this issue on my 2024 air IPad too! I thought Apple was bypassing the 80% because they want the IPads to breakdown quicker. Thank you so much for explaining this function! Very helpful and thoughtful to share!

Why does my iphone exceed 80% after turning off and on the device? I have set the limit to 80%. More often, it does not charge beyond 80%, however I have observed many times that the phone gets charged up to 85-90% when I switch or turn off the phone.
What is the reason and will it affect the battery life?
