Dawn of the Ed’s is one of my favourites of season one, I used to build laser weapons out of junk and pretend I was stranded on the robot planet with the Ed’s, we were holding off an army till double D got the ship to work

Not necessarily. Sometimes some films have some scenes cut out during theatrical release but are later restored either on TV or DVD.

The best example would be Samuel Fuller’s 1980 epic war film The Big Red One which was cut by 47 minutes at theatrical release but was fully digitally restored and remastered when released on DVD in 2004.
