I recently spent £600 on a Pioneer DDJ-1000 DJ Controller that was listed as having a few faults. In working condition, these regularly sell for upwards of £1000 so let's see if we can fix it! We will also do a relatively detailed teardown to take a look at how all of the various components work!

This was a fantastic repair tutorial and I really enjoyed watching it from start to finish. You really have an amazing skill set and you are very knowledgeable in electronics. I wouldn't understand the first thing about diagnosing those boards but it was just amazing how you broke everything down for the viewer and explained how you came to your conclusions. If I could give you more likes, I would. Keep up the amazing work.

I have a DDJ 1000 for over 2 years now…. To sit and watch this was so scary. But….. I loved it. Pure skill on what you achieved. KUDOS to you. I do keep mine in pristine condition with a deck saver but use it at house party’s and mix about 2 hours a day in my man cave of musical bliss. Thanks for bringing this superb product back to life. So entertaining to watch .

I really enjoyed that! And I don't even own a DDJ 1000. I just got a DDJ 800 and was looking for tear down videos of which I can hardly find any. Stumbled across this one and just kept watching! Glad you got it working 100%. GGs!

Nice change of pace / scene for the channel! Loved seeing inside some high-end tech!
I was chuckling to myself, before you did your round up at the end, explaining what further maintenance you might do….. thinking you’re gonna regret cleaning that LCD so well, as the good one would now look dirty! 🤪
Great vid! 👍🏼

Fascinating, as Spock would put it.
I just wanted to see the innards of a controller. Saw your DDJ-400 disassembly too.
Very informative. Thanks for the videos. :)

Awesome repair, the best I have seen on YouTube. Captain Kirk said "Well done Scotty!"

I got a box with two disassembled CDJ2000’s a few months ago and managed to build and fix one of them fully. The other needed some new parts and was sold as defected.
Didn’t take me long to learn what was what and how to fix it, so I can now save tons of money on future problems 👌

I do think £600 is a lot for a damaged ddj1000. I got offered one in working condition with a flightcase for around £500 last year 😅

Availability issues aside, I think £600 is expensive for non working if the price new is £1200.

Wow! Amazing repair I have the same controller with a broken up fader (ch1). I’ve been rocking it with 3 faders for a while as I was uneasy about opening it up. Maybe I’ll give it a go since I now know what it looks like inside. Thank you so so much for taking the time to document your repair process. Cheers!
