HP345x Meters Raves and some measurements

A bit of raving about my HP345x Voltmeters, and using them to measure a battery and a low resistance value.
The resistance measurement was somewhat uncertain, and I felt it was a little on the high side. So I tried another method of measuring it, which gave a more definitive result. Though that was not much different from what the meters had told me earlier.

When you do get to the HP 3455A, go ahead and replace the power supply capacitors. All three of ours have needed it, it was the only fault on one of them. Excellent old test gear, thanks for sharing!

Check the Rifa safety capacitors on the mains input. They all fail and go up in smoke.

Great video! I think your method for determining the resistance is perfectly valid. I just found your channel - did a search for HP 3455A as I have just purchased a dead one. I also own a 3456A, 3457A and a 3490A - which is an amazing peice of engineering - a digital meter with no microprocessor. I bought the 3490 dead and repaired it, a bad demux chip in the state machine. I am looking forward to your repair of the 3455A. Regards, David
