Very tasty sauce. Just a side note if you don't mind: Let the smoke dry spices and brown sugar cool down before you add the ketchup, i made spice crystals and a beautiful splash pattern on backsplash, stove counter top and me!!! Other than that, sauce is spot on for a change of pace. I make my own as well and my dad once had it on the market in the 90's. It was called Kings Gold and sold mostly at Winn Dixie's in the South East.

Chef Dave - you are truly one of the most innovative chefs on youtube. Have you thought about selling that BBQ sauce? I'd buy it. I'm curious how it would taste with a bit of gochujang or siracha also.. I might have to experiment.
Also - I wanted to ask - why no marinade? Is it because the skin doesn't get as crispy?

Love the BBQ sauce recipe.  You're not going to stop doing sushi videos are you?

I like your big portion sauces but wished they lasted longer than 1 month! Is there anything Chef we can do to get a few more weeks organically to preserve it?

I just made this chicken as I had 3 thighs but even though I cooked it your way I had no bbq sauce so I did siracha, ketchup, lemon juice and a bit of bad at all and the skin is crispy. I can't wait for my little boy to enjoy it.

You didn't put a hole in the lemon to save it.

looks good chef but have you tried cooking it over charcoal maybe on skewers and basting and turning continually? bbq flavors always taste better grilled IMO

Rock! Nice stuff here. I'm a cheap-ass, so I just put my sauce back into the ketchup bottle and put a piece of masking tape on the top and sides that say "Q"

I love the dig on premature coriander.

Do you think the sauce would go good on ribs? I’d like to try this out myself...

I think better way is remove most of oil from pan before you add that BBQ sauce.

It's important to note that Heinz ketchup in the United States is sweetened with high fructose corn syrup which makes it taste funny and of course very bad for you. The Heinz ketchup in europe just has sugar as it's sweetener so it tastes much better. If you make this recipe in the US make sure to use a ketchup that doesn't use high fructose corn syrup

I was absolutely salivating and enthralled until you mentioned covering it with soap - um, er, I mean cilantro. I think that I'll substitute Italian parsley. Other than that, it looks fantastic!

Question - doesnt the skin get soggy when you cook it with the sauce?

Barbecue sauce could be added before butter
