As a Sonic Fan who thinks Sonic obliterates Mario, Everybody has their own opinions, and that's fine if you think Mario wins

But we can agree that the Super Star doesn't stand a chance against Super Sonic, even back when that video released
And Hyper Sonic is 7x stronger than Ultra from the Archie Comics based on the Super Emeralds they each use (Ultra - 1, Hyper - 7)
I know Archie obviously isn't canon, but we this shows how powerful Hyper Sonic is hypothetically

Actually sonic wins here’s reason:
1:sonic can flip a truck by spin dash
2:sonic has ring portals he can just throw it and he can throw Mario in the volcano
3:sonic got many forms that u think bc in the comics he has this form name fleetway sonic
4:sonic generates light on his quils that helps him defeat egg man by just hit him imagining sonic lights up and hits Mario multiple times

Here's why Sonic was extremely downplayed in the death battle:

Sonic's hyper form was already stated to be multiple, maybe even dozens of times stronger than his super form... and here's a list of universal - multiversal enemies Sonic has defeated IN SUPER FORM not hyper form btw:

Solaris (stated to be a super dimensional being)
Time eater (nearly destroyed all of time and space)
Egg wizard (contains all sol emeralds, which had a stated feat of nearly destroying 2 universes)
Infinite (can warp time and reality due to the phantom ruby -_-)
Erazor Djinn

if you wanna try to scale thats alright then. But this is straight death battle fanboying and meatriding, HYPER SONIC IS MUCH STRONGER THAN SUPER SONIC BTW.

Uhhh. Mario doesn’t have more durability than Sonic. Sonic could take hits from Multiversal level beings like Time eater or eraser Jin. Mario loses his power ups after one hit and becomes small after another, meaning he could only take 3 hits at most. (Not counting the Super Star)

Let me just state some facts first of all it is stated that sonic gets stronger every second so even if he dose lose at a point of time as long as he survives he will be able to beat mario at a later time second the star power up mario has only lasts a few seconds while sonics super form in theroy could last forever so if sonic gose super marios cooked thrid of all mario may be strong but he has not defeated multiple god like enemies and gods while sonic has done so on multiple times lastly sonics is faster then mario by a ton mario could maybe match sonic when sonics joging but when sonic runs at top speed or close to that hes faster the the speed of light i mean sonic even has a move named the light speed dash so even if mario gets some good hits in sonic could just speed away and then speed back and hit mario doing about or more of the damage mario did so in my opinion sonic would win
