FINALLY!! A great solution to the problem of side mounting this otherwise great Sony camera!

I have it and will be using this idea for mounting to my bike and ski helmet!

you can adjust the cameras tilt angle yes. in the vid it is shown fully forward, it will tilt back wards until the cam is almost upside down.

I have just done a "dry run" and yes it could be used like that depending on your helmet and weather or not you can get good adhesion with the base plate onto the helmets chin

the mount is totally adjustable in every direction, I actually found when using it that the cam needs to be pointing slightly upward due to the fact you don't wear a helmet flat and level, I used the wifi to view the cam in real time on an iphone, in position with the helmet on to get the final adjustments and have not had to change it again, this mount was before sony had any other options if I were doing it again I may use Sony mounts but go pro mounts are still much cheaper hope this helps.

Its actually the standard mount from my old Blaupunkt Sat-Nav (lucca 3.5) I realized it was the same fittings as go-pro use :)

There's anoother easy way to do this, If you have a spare sony headband mount (BLTHB1) laying around, remove the screw linking the mount to the band, and the you can put that joint on any Gopro mount, they have the same size, and same screw opening, you can also remount the part back to the headband whenever you want

Hi mate i have just watched this video i know it is old and thought what a great idea one of the best ways to mount a sony i have seen, anyway searched hi and low for that adaptor and i cannot find it anywhere on the net you want to put it under lock and key as it will be worth a fortune later on.

If I wanted to use a mic plus a mount I would buy the AKA-SF1 case, but you would lose water protection.
