“For all I know the next fire emblem game is a third person shooter, or a dating sim, or both?”

You mean Valkyria Chronicles?

I like watching these types of videos because it gives me some kind of idea of what to expect, however, I'll be happy with any new FE experience. I love stories, and ever since I played Awakening, I fell in love with the stories that Fire Emblem has to tell, so whether i get to truly meet Sigurd and Seliph for the first time, or if its a new story in Fodlan or somewhere totally new, I'm very excited and ready to fall in love with a new cast of characters and story

I’d like a new game personally, especially something that breaks away from 3H and tries something new. 3H’s mechanics were fun, but I don’t feel reclassing is viable for older games and the monastery system isn’t really either. Instead of reclassing the way 3H allows, I’d rather they make it so characters have more viable customization through skills, combat arts, and maybe branched promotions (I don’t mind a sandbox mode, but it should be more of an after thought for fun rather than a primary mechanic). I do prefer the idea of exploring towns and places kinda like SoV dungeons rather than exploring a massive home base. I think a new game will be announced in Winter, since iirc 3H was announced not long after SoV’s release and a trailer the year following. Even if it’s six months away at that point, an announcement of any kind would be nice.

I would like a prequel, but closer to the time period of 3H. This would explore the duscur tragedy or Edel’s or claude’s experiences as a child. People like Nadar, Judith, Lambert, Rodrigue and Arendal could be playable and a different story for each continent, like SoV but with 3 lords instead of 2. You could also have little points of the story where it revealed what the OG cast was doing at the time, like dorothea orphan or ingrid with Glenn or something like that

My bet is on a Genealogy Remake, but I would love to see more of the world of Fodlan.

If it really is a remake tho, I could definetly see it being announced in today's direct and having an early 2022 release date.

i'm thinking that it's going to be an fe4 remake this spring however i could also see them going with a new game set in the same world as fodlan for 2023. then to hold us off they could perhaps drop a tellius twin pack sometime in 2022? the tellius games have pretty high demand and porting/remastering them is project that they could outsource if need be.

I don't know what it is about FE3H but I have never been so impatient for a followup/successor for a game. These past 2 years have been excruciatingly long lol.

Remake: Sword of Seals, this one deserve a remake.
Sequel: Radiant Dawn, we need a 3rd Tellius game, cause I wanna find out more about the branded. Like who is the Wolf branded, or Hawk branded?

My bets on a rumored Fire Emblem Game
A)a prequel set in Three Houses’ Fodlan Continent though the topic of a Three Houses Prequel is broad and wide ranging from the Nemesis & the 10 Elites vs Seiros Battle the story of Three Houses Crests and the foundation of Garreg Mach Monastery etc
B)obviously a remake of a pre-Blazing Blade Fire Emblem Game
C)ports of existing Fire Emblem Games like The Sacred Stones, Path of Radiance, Radiant Dawn, Awakening, Fates, and Shadows of Valentia

I heard there’s 2 games in development. A remake and an entirely new Title. The remake is speculated to be either Genealogy of the Holy War or FE6 (possibly mashed up with FE7)
Also: regarding the Nabateans, the etymology of the name is the same as the Nabata Desert in FE6 and FE7. I like to believe the dragons who were “lost” along their journey through the dragon’s gate are the manakete in 3 Houses. Heck take it even further, every dragon in the series is originally from FE6/7 and are lost dragons. The Dragon’s gate is a portal to the unknown after all, it has the potential to lead dragons to other dimensions, time periods, and even alternate realities. In FE6 and FE7 it is said dragons and mankind possessed such power that they could reshape the world (the weapons forged to fight the war dragons were otherworldly in power). This reminds me of Mila and Duma’s power to reshape the lands as they see fit. As they are also dragons they too must have been lost along the way through the dragon’s gate.

Now that this past Direct is over, my guess about a new FE game is that it’ll likely be a late Summer 2022 game at its earliest. If it’s a completely new game, however, I think we’d have to wait for 2023 since 2022’s already packed with major franchises.

If it’s a remake (which is the best hope of getting an early release), then I could see it being announced in a February 2022 Direct and getting a release in July or August. Remakes don’t get as much marketing as new titles (SoV came out 3-4 months after its announcement), so the marketing cycle would probably be pretty brief.

On the other hand, we have to consider how XC3 factors into Nintendo’s plans. Nintendo sees both FE & XC as their major JRPG franchises, so I doubt they’d want to release both games near each other since their audiences share some overlap. The only way we get a new XC & FE game both in 2022 is for a remake to come out in the summer while XC3 comes out in the fall or December.

FE games tend to come out during spring or summer while Xenoblade games tend to come out late in the year (XCX, XC2, Torna). Yes, XC:DE came out in May 2020, but that was a remaster of an old game with only a tiny new epilogue. If a new Xenoblade game comes out in 2022, that narrows the window for a new FE game.

XC3 would definitely get more marketing attention than an FE remake, so XC3 would have a longer marketing cycle from announcement to release. Of course, that could all change if we assume BotW2 comes out Holiday 2022. Perhaps they decide for XC3 to be a late summer release. My guess is that _Bayonetta 3_ gets released in October (filling the “adult” niche), so a fall release for either FE or XC would be a narrow window.

I guess my point is that a new Xenoblade game would be more likely to come in 2022 if I had to choose between the two games. Assuming BotW2 doesn’t get delayed to early 2023, I see little room for both FE & XC to come out in the same year unless it fits a pretty narrow window. In that sense, FE is the more likely of the two to be delayed to 2023 since Xenoblade is more overdue for a new game.

I have a few thoughts

A) There's still no answer to the photos of Edelgard and Claude that were released in the Castle Conversations video, maybe a game placed in the timeskip????

B)New game based in Fodlan, I feel like Three Houses is not going to be the only game taking place there.

6)If it is a Remake, honestly I would love to see a FE 6 remake that goes more in depth in the story and maybe even give us a Guinivere campaign(Guinivere deserves so much more)

I’d love a telius port. Like I don’t even need a remake. Legit just port them as is on the switch and I’ll be a happy lad.

The Tellius games have the most in common with Three Houses mechanically, so if IS intends to build off of what they've already made on Switch, a remake of those games seems likely. The thing about remakes is that most of the games that haven't been remade already are in pairs. 4 and 5, 6 and 7, 9 and 10. And if you do that your choices are either to combine them into one massive game, which would be a daunting task and likely would take more resources than they're willing to use, or commit to making two games over 4-6 years. And what happens if the first one doesn't do well?

Personally I'd like to get the Jugdral games as well. The Tellius games, while they have the most in-depth and interesting story (aside from Shadows of Valentia), still hold up pretty well today. If anything, porting them to virtual console with an HD remaster would be ideal and I think that's the most likely scenario for Ike and co, even if we'd all rather see a full remake.

I personally want a remake or a new game before a sequel

i’m very biased towards marth and caeda, my absolute favs, so i would LOVE a remake of mystery of the emblem or even shadow dragon, or perhaps a new marth game with the visual style of 3 houses. but alas i don’t think that will be plausible

Played Xenoblade for the first time in the past few months. It's amazing! I'd love XB3. Definitely hoping for at least some kind of announcement that the next FE game is in development...
