How to save or revive a dying Calathea plant? Calathea is one of the most sensitive plants and they die even if we do little bit here and there. The initial symptoms is visible on leaves - they would become crispy and start drying. Or in fact, sometimes leaves would curl inwards and edges would become brown. Here in this video, I have shared a very simple method of reviving a dying Calathea plant. In case, your plants are not healthy, then try this method once and I am 100% sure that it would work.

THANK YOU THANK YOU!!

I used this exact same mix on my dying Calathea and it came back to life! It’s flourishing and growing more than it was before. I have a north facing window and I live in CA so pretty good sun year round. I bought the sand (regular gardening sand) and vermicompost from a local plant store. I water about 1/wk. The plant completely died at first and I was skeptical but started to grow back in about 4 weeks and it hasn’t stopped since. Plz try this soil mix!

"Unable to be satisfied" is the most accurate description of a calathea that I have ever heard!

Calathea is definitely the most troublesome plant I've owned so far! I found that they really do not like direct sunlight, or extreme cold. Mine is in a peat free compost that needs a slight replenish now, and it's recovering really well!

I love how your Calathea thrive after d repotting! My share with Calathea is that after I re-potted them then I placed them near my fish pond. They ❤️❤️ d humidity. I also tried once placing them in d bathroom it works wonderfully 😻. Thanks again!!!

Great job recovering that plant 👏 My calathea is getting beat up by the Canadian winter dry air lol husband doesn't want a humidifier. She is hanging on decently though, your video gave me hope for lots of new growth in spring/summer 😁

Yes, perfect. Your mix is very cheap and does a very good job. I use sand, some clay pebbles and orchid mix to make the pots lighter.

Very impressive recovery! Have you ever had a flowering Calathea? Many years ago someone gave me a plain Calathea that had the most fragrant flowers!

Would love to hear your type of environment/weather when discussing successful potting mixes (ie hot/cold, dry/humid, indoor/outdoor, distance from lighting, North/South/East/West window?)

Fantastic result!

I can’t even believe this! I always naturally just assume that once a leaf shows ANY sign of distress that it’s a goner…and I cut it off. Boy have you proved that assumption wrong! I actually have 2 peacock Calatheas just like this and they’re doing very well, tho they need to be repotted. I cut several lower leaves off of one of them as they were getting all spotty - but new leaves are still growing. (I think the spots are due to too much moisture and needing to be reported) I thought Calatheas don’t like direct sun, and you proved that wrong as well! Also, my Calatheas came from Canada in only peat moss, and since they’re happy in it, I’m just going to keep using it. Thanks for this video!
