I'll be honest, the only reason I'm still on an iphone comes down to longevity of security. I don't tend to upgrade, until it's absolutely necessary. If Samsung matched Apple on support length, I'd switch in a heartbeat.

The s22u and s23u are bigger but i always find it more comfortable and easier to hold than iphone 13 or 14 pro max.

The S Pen's latency was significantly reduced last year, so Samsung hasn't forgotten it.

Overally I prefer the S23 ultra over iphone 14 pro max due to :
1.Better charging speeds
2.Better for multitasking
3.Best zoom cameras on any smartphone(3x and 10x optical zoom)
4.Vivid amoled display
5. Great features like Dex, use of Spen and Goodlock for customisation
6. Better battery life overal taking into account charging time
7.Tone of screen real estate since it has a tiny selfie camera as compared to a larger dynamic island on Apple
8.The Ultra's speakers are a little bit louder this year
9.Better edge to edge detection when taking potraits, if not the best
10 .8k video recording has been smoother this year, no longer a gimmick

I own both the S23Ultra and 14 Pro and i must say, i keep switching from both of them, whenever i stay inside the house, i mostly use my iphone 14 Pro but when i go outside or go in roadtrips, then i choose to use the S23 Ultra for the battery, But if im being totally honest, i prefer using the 14 Pro for its more comfortable size and slightly smoother software, but i do prefer consuming content on the Ultra for the higher resolution and display size, So for me Both phones are good

I upgraded to the S23 ultra from the S22 ultra. And I really love the S23 ultra. Definitely better battery life.

Well definitely Iphone 14 pro/max hands down!
Still using my Iphone XS 256gb as my daily driver and the smoothness of its software useability still no difference from the time i got it 5 yrs ago! Thats incredible!
My wife’s 4yr old S10 plus is already pretty laggy, sluggish and sometimes not responding to a certain apps.. so when she ask me which phone to get this 2023, i told her definitely iphone 14 pro no doubt!

S23 Ultra easily wins. Years ahead of the iPhone in all departments. And finally the battery life is better as well which was the only reason to even consider an iPhone

I wish there was two more OS's out there like when Windows and Blackberry phones also existed.

S23 Ultra offers Dex function too which opens up another dimension of functionality.

Great video, and I agree about the camera comparison. I have said for a while now when compared to previous smartphones, that both are great but different, and I struggle to see my preference in comparison—messaging from my S23 Ultra.

At some point we should perhaps stop with the myth of 7-8 years of iPhone updates 🤔, no iPhone has ever been updated for longer than 6 years 🤷🏽‍♂️, and in truth, within 2-3 last years of its update cycle, an iPhone does not receive the real significant features of these updates, in truth, iPhones receive 4 real updates, the last 2 are more iOS version name changes in settings and especially security updates 🤧

Love the build quality of iPhones since the X, but feel to much on the leash lately. 0 freedom, unless I jailbreak. Gonna try the s23

The forever battle! I find it too complicated to keep switching for a daily driver to another… I gave up and just stay with one

You absolutely get Value for your money going with the Galaxy Ultra!
- not the Apple's monopoly. 😅

I´ve just switched from an S23 Ultra to the 14 Pro Max and, to my use the iPhone suits better. Easy to use, more confortable to hold, fluid navigation, super fast Face ID and battery that seems to last longer. The S23 ultra have A LOT of more features for sure, I will miss the S-Pen and the ultra zoom, but that´s it. In general I´m liking the 14 pro max more.

The "iphone ultra" excuse doesn't hold any water. I care the box price, not the "naming convention. Both cost 1100-1200 bucks. And in EU (where i am coming from) the new lineup of apple saw a price hike over 150 bucks for PM. So a 14PM was 1350 euros. Which not only makes Apple's "non-ultra" smartphone (nonsense) crappier, but also more expensive.
The fact that you get more years of updates with ios doesn't really matter. Let's be honest, what % of the user base keeps it's phones longer than 4 to maximum 5 years? I would argue that's even a disadvantage because their ios upgrades are limited in scope by the old 7-8 year hardware that it should run on. I hope they will address some long awaited features like:
- multitasking
- keyboard
- oversharpening of photos
- bugs (omg, ios 16)
- overhaul settings menu and search
- siri beeing useless
- etc
I am not a apple hater, just someone who paid almost 1500 euros (~1500 bucks) for a 256 14PM and somewhat disappointed with the overall (non-existent) ios improvements.
And more apple apps in which i can spend even more money do not count. I want my phone to be useful to me, not to get to the point of paying apple 50 bucks a month on subscriptions and apks because i randomly sneezed in my way to work

I keep getting tempted to Android because of the various features but then when it comes to actually living with the phone and primarily the software, I always get fed up and come back to the iPhone. In the past few years my phone use looked like this in Chronological order: iPhone XS (2 years), Note 20 Ultra (3 Months), back to my old iPhone XS (8 months), Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra (6 months), iPhone 13 Pro (10 months), S22 Ultra (2 months), back to iPhone 13 Pro ( 8 Months).
I just find Android, and especially OneUI, to be too janky and missing a lot of the core quality of life features that iOS has. Yes it has a lot of extra features which are cool but the core, most important features, are more mature and fleshed out on iOS. Just my opinion. Currently waiting for the iPhone 15 Pro Max/Ultra and I am looking over the fence at the Android options, wondering if I should make the switch again, but ultimately when I think about the software I just think I should stick with iOS.

If only Samsung made the smaller S23 just as capable/good as the S23 Ultra.

I guess no need to switch from an iPhone 14 Pro to a S23 Ultra. Bigger screen means more of a hassle to use one handed. S Pen isn't really something I would use, other than as a portable shutter, it doesn't have any critical use cases, just like the Dynamic Island (only if you find yourself drawing or taking notes with a stylus all the time instead of writing notes in the note app).
Performance wise it'll pretty much be the same experience for an average user, playing games now and then.
I guess the question lies in personal preference and which ecosystem you prefer.
