Per Google doc (Oct 2019):
Log entries are saved to Cloud Storage buckets in hourly batches. It might take from 2 to 3 hours before the first entries begin to appear.
Probably only PubSub is suitable for "streaming" logs outside of GCP.

We have used this approach. Our splunk is onpremises. Since our log generation is excessive splunk is not able to cope up pulling from this subscription and gets delayed by hours during peak traffic. The only approach we thought is to increase the number on onprem VMS so that polls on scale .
