This recipe works well as is, but to complete the full effect of a mock fish, there is one final secret ingredient... This will be revealed in my revised hardcopy book Everyday Vegan Food: Meat Lover's Edition. Look for presale to open in just two more weeks! In the meantime, this is a great place to start. Be sure to bake your chickpea filets for a minimum of 25 minutes at 350F to firm it up and reduce it's moisture content. Chao for now, I'll see you soon!

1c Chickpea flour
2-2/3c Water
1/3c Vegan Fish Sauce (Ocean Way)
1-1/2t Sea Salt

Add all ingredients in to a high speed blender and blend until smooth. Transfer to a high walled pot on medium high heat and with a whisk be sure to stir continuously to prevent any lumps or stuicking to the bottom of the pot. Bring to a soft boil (reduce the heat if needed) and cook for 5 minutes. Transfer to a baking dish and allow to cool. Once chickpea is set, cut into filets (use video reference) and use as desired.

OMG just came across your channel - someone mentioned you in the comment section of another vegan cooking channel, saying you are 'way underrated' and wow, I agree. And love love love your raw food channel, too (I have been vegan for many years and raw quiet recent, still love to watch vegan cooking videos and always looking for good raw inspirations, that are fun to watch, well made and not an hour long, so this is amazing!). You need more subscribers on all your channels!!

Looks amazing but is the heavy, bean flavor from chickpea flour very discernable? If that bean flavor can be masked, this recipe is heaven-sent for me.

How long do you have to refrigerate this for it to be firm? I tried making this and everything was right until refrigeration (or so it seemed)☹️. I made sure my measurements, texture and everything was exact based on me analyzing the video. It did not get firm 😩. What went wrong?

While I appreciate that you want to sell copies of your book I think it’s a little deceptive to pretend to offer a recipe and then say that people have to buy the book to get one ingredient... sort of seems like a bait and switch. I always love your recipes and definitely would love to buy your book, but I think that relying on your fans supporting you is a more genuine approach. Definitely reasonable not to give all your recipes away but this felt icky...
