Lyrics
When I get like this I give myself the creeps
Like a newborn cub on little shaky feet
Stumbling around trying to find some ground
What a joke always thrashing around
Till I figure it out and then I choke

I was so upset I saw them selling me out
Right there on Los Feliz Boulevard
They were selling me cheap out there on the street
Poster sized large as life
There were tears in my eyes and so I drove on by

I cannot let my feelings to keep hijacking my brain
They’ve got a gun against my head
I’m gonna think my way around this wall I cannot change
They’ve got a gun against my head

So I drive on home my tail between my legs
I’m deadbeat tired and I’m a bit of a mess
Feeling all refreshed and brimming with hope
All my intentions are good and then I choke

In my head In my head

I gotta bend or we will fall
My reality’s a metaphor
Success is big and failure small
And I’m one inch shy of feeling tall

GARBAGE - THE ALTERNATIVE ROCK BAND

Garbage is an American rock band formed in 1993 in Madison, Wisconsin. The band's lineup—consisting of Scottish singer Shirley Manson (vocals) and American musicians Duke Erikson (guitar, bass, keyboards), Steve Marker (guitar, keyboards), and Butch Vig (drums, production)—has remained unchanged since its inception. All four members are involved in the songwriting and production process. Garbage has sold over 17 million albums worldwide. The band's eponymous debut album was critically acclaimed upon its release, selling over four million copies and achieving double platinum certification in the United Kingdom, United States and in Australia. It was accompanied by a string of increasingly successful singles from 1995 to 1996, including "Stupid Girl" and "Only Happy When It Rains". Follow-up Version 2.0, released in 1998 after a year in production, was equally successful, topping the UK Albums Chart and receiving two Grammy Award nominations. Garbage followed this by performing and co-producing the theme song to the nineteenth James Bond film The World Is Not Enough (1999). Garbage's third album Beautiful Garbage was also critically acclaimed, but failed to match the commercial success of its predecessors. Garbage quietly disbanded amidst the troubled production of their fourth album Bleed Like Me, but regrouped to complete the album, which was released in 2005 and peaked at a career-high number four in the U.S. The band cut short their of Bleed Like Me concert tour and announced an indefinite hiatus, emphasizing that they had not broken up but rather wished to pursue separate interests. The hiatus was briefly interrupted in 2007, when the band recorded new tracks for their greatest hits album Absolute Garbage. The band reunited in 2011, and self-released their 2012 album Not Your Kind of People on their own label Stunvolume to positive reviews. Their next album, Strange Little Birds, followed in 2016. Their seventh studio album, No Gods No Masters, was released in 2021. * And I have the great honor of having five Garbage albums in my discography. Therefore, I have two collections, Absolute Garbage from 2007, The Absolute Collection from 2012. Three studio albums, Version 2.0, remastered edition in 2018, commemorating the 20th anniversary of its original edition in 1998. Strange Little Birds, released in 2016. And finally, No Gods No Masters (Limited Deluxe Edition 2 CD (2021). All albums are in CD format! * No Gods No Masters is the seventh studio album by American rock band Garbage. It was released on June 11, 2021, through the band's own label Stunvolume. The album was distributed worldwide by Infectious Music and BMG and preceded by the lead singles "The Men Who Rule the World", "No Gods No Masters" and "Wolves". "This is our seventh record, the significant numerology of which affected the DNA of its content: the seven virtues, the seven sorrows, and the seven deadly sins, " singer Shirley Manson explained, describing No Gods No Masters as "a critique of the rise of capitalist short-sightedness, racism, sexism and misogyny across the world." ❤️💯‼️

This song is so powerful. Everytime I listen to it I'm on the verge of crying just because of how much I can feel her frustration. The world always wants us to feel that we're not enough and that our life is over at certain age and we can no longer succeed. Shirley and the guys are so powerful and good together, I hope they know how important their music is.

I got the same feeling as when I watched the video for "Push it"for the first time. Like, you're watching something pretty cool, and you're a part of that. You belong to a secret group of misunderstood people, outsiders, who overflow with creativity and are not ashamed or afraid of expressing their feelings and their thoughts.

I just want to gush for a second, for Garbage and Ms. Shirley Manson. I was 15 years old when the first album came out. I’ve suffered with clinical depression, self harm, and more. And while I can’t say any music or musician helped cure any of that, Shirley has at least made me feel like I’m not complete freak. Like I’m not the only one who, as an adult, is still kind of stumbling and, at times, struggling blindingly through life. It seems like thank you doesn’t quite do justice, but there really is no better word so *THANK* *YOU*

My fave track on the album. First listen it was an instant "turn it up" moment. Guitars reminded me a lot of Sonic Youth, never a bad thing.

The Real musicians and no autotune. And Ms Manson´s voice cuts like a knife. Brilliant. Hope to see them live on stage. Played few songs in our club last night and the crowd was totally insane....

I already really loved the song but the video is so trippy and wild, I love it! It's been interesting seeing them do some more psychedelic avant-garde type music videos for this album, very cool stuff!

Songs from Garbage never disappoint! My best friend just died from breast cancer a few weeks ago, goddamn she would have loved this song too! I wish she were here to hear it! We loved Garbage since way back in the day.

I have loved this awesome band since the '90s - I used to read Shirley's blogs - she's so cool, beautiful and multi-talented. I have respect for Butch Vig - he's a wonderful musician and producer.
