Ergonomic/Edge Testing SOG Northwest Ranger Part 2 of 2

Ergonomic and edge retention testing of the SOG Northwest Ranger. Tried several different cutting techniques to test the ergos and at the same time test the edge retention. This video is long and slow, but I wanted to show as much of the cutting that actually happened.

Love how you bring the kids along. Kids change everything. I have a 4 and a 2 yr old haven't been to the range or hiking as much as I use too. The water park there all the time. Keep incorporating the kids in your vids they will love you for it later. God bless Crocket

HAWK did really good helping dad batonning the tree limp. That was priceless. I agree to get them involved. We have the little guy of ours to help pick up the area. Looks like a winner for you. I'm not sure I have a POU for it right now, but I don't have a problem with how it performed here for you. I like the idea of having a thinner gauge steel knife for lighter carry weight. The grip looks remarkably similar to my recently purchased Pendleton Hunter from Cold Steel. I'll send it along for you.

@drzmanproject Same knife I got and it's taken a beating well. The finish wears readily but I like the "character" that it adds to the knife.

you can just make out a mark on the handle made by the miss hit ... in years to come when hawks grown up that will still be there and be a cool thing reminiscent of the past

Great helper. And really attentive to what is going on. I might call on your helper when I need some help. Good help is hard ot find around here. In California, nobody wants to do physical work. Also he is a great actor, a lot more photgenic that his father. Must have inherited mamma's looks, LOL. This is the only SOG knife I like. And as I mentioned it before I am getting the balck and satin blades. How do you like the sheath on these knives?
