Welcome to Americas newest mall. The American Dream Mall located in East Rutherford NJ opened in 2019 too much disappointment. Yes it was huge new and shiny, but lacking most of its stores dining and entertainment venues. Now that the mall has had some time to find its footing we'll take a look at how it's doing in 2022. If you want to see what the mall was like shortly after opening check out my previous video below. This will give you a chance to see just how much this mall has grown in the last few years.

I feel bad..As a Gen Xer, we lived in the shopping mall. Bought my first Prince record at Northland mall in Michigan. Now with work and chronic pain and general crankiness, I wouldn’t be in a mall without a scooter to save my life 😂 also Amazon is a lifesaver for folks who can’t get out as much any longer sorry not sorry 😂

The thing that's crazy is that American Dream is the considered the 2nd biggest mall in the country. But it still doesn't feel that way with half of the retail/dinning spaces closed. Also, while the potential of it all is exciting, all that empty space is depressing. The occupied store fronts themselves are awesome though. And the design aesthetic throughout the building is very fun and attractive.

But when you have a mall that's billions of dollars in debt, not hitting anywhere near capacity the future isn't very bright. They're in a lawsuit right now b/c of their unpaid debts to the surrounding NJ towns, but mall owners are trying to get out of it by claim "they aren't officially open yet" b/c the haven't yet hit full capacity. If they lose they'll owe even more people lol.

I looked at the Google reviews for Tilt and I would say that it's not worth the $20 admission. They should call it an art gallery, not a museum. It's yet another high priced selfie venue.

You might consider the Roboburger at the nearby Newport Mall in Jersey City for a video. It's a neat concept but it's out of order a lot. I tried the Pizza ATM at Ferg's Sports Bar in downtown St Petersburg and it was fun, fast, cheap, and tasty

So, talking about the Asian stuff you mentioned:

Uniqlo is a big multi-billion $$ fast fashion company. They pay Roger Federer a pretty penny to wear their stuff. Not saying their stuff is great, I primarily go for their collabs with Gundam and Final Fantasy, but it's whole market is "selling basics".

Aland is a Korean store, explains the star of David you saw since Korean's and Filipinos are very Catholic

The Rutherford area, also, taking into account the towns around it, there are a lot of Asian communities, with a lot of Filipinos, fort Lee/Edgewater/Paramus with Korean/Japanese communities, not forgetting all of the Chinese/Filipinos in queens/Manhattan (I'm of course missing a lot since I'm more familiar with the Filipino community), so it explains a lot of things as well with a bunch of Asian stores/food

Also, lol, Jollibee's more than the Chicken Joy, man. Did you ever try their spaghetti? It's like... My mom's... With the hotdogs... And ketchup... (My fiance who's Ecuadorian just calls it blasphemy), or the other "pasta" dish, palabok with the chicharon's and egg, lol

Also, I think you're mistaking Yesstyle for AliExpress

It felt kinda weird mixing all of the different Asian things you were talking about into one thing like everything was connected or something. I don't know really know what things are like in Cincinnati and no judging since, there's too many different communities of Asians in general, just yeah, lol,

Yesstyle is from Hong Kong, Uniqlo is Japanese, aland is Korean, so on and so forth.

They’re having serious financial struggles, I don’t know what will happen in the long run.

What percentage of the mall would you say is open now?

That Dreamworks waterpark is one of the best indoor water parks in the world. It is pricey, but if you get there when they first open preferably on a weekday it is more than worth it.

Came to this video with curiosity about this mall (saw the Abandoned video by Bright Sun Films from 2020) thanks for showing us around but there were some really "cringe" moments. I understand you may not be familiar with a certain culture but in that case it's better to either not say anything or do some research before saying something (especially since you added in the commentary afterwards). I'm not trying to attack you, nor do I want to breakdown any of the faults, just a heads up of something to keep mind if Youtube is what you wanna grow at doing.
