Don’t blame the scalpers. Blame the people that are willing to pay more than retail for new products. Stop buying it and they will stop doing this. It’s really that simple but people would rather complain.

Targets I've been to usally set a limit when it gets there and then allow people to go through the line like 3 times with the same limit. Then they tell everyone to leave as they have to stock the shelf and take pics. After that its no limit, if anything is left

Honestly, people just need to put their foot down on this and hold out longer than the scalpers. The only reason they do this over and over again is because someone is buying. Doesnt make the scalpers any less scummy, but you gotta remember they are bottom feeders. If people just held onto that money and didnt buy unopened packs that are still actively distributed from third parties (i.e not the stores selling at MSRP), the bubble would burst fast. So many of these people are going into stupid amounts of debt on these cards packs and boxes. Its just like that GameStop short from a couple years ago. People goninto debt to get the cards, then when they are flipped rhey pay the debt in full and make a profit on top. But if the cards dont sell, they will get desperate to sell at closer to MSRP or even all the way down AT MSRP because that debt still has to get paid, and rather than being a maggive hedge fund corp that will get bailed out by the govt, these are individuals maxing out credit lines who are looking at massive repossessions.

The pokemon company should have a means for reporting store owners that do this so they can get blacklisted by distributors.
Its one thing if a collector wants to buy a couple extra and resell them later. But this is just scalping. They are buying it all so no one else can have it, and they can mark it up.

They should be punished by having to sit on their "investment" that nobody wants. If the community won't tolerate scalper prices. Let them waste their money and eat it. Pay full MSRP because Distrubuters won't work with them and then have no one to sell to because people will only pay MSRP.
Dont pay scalper prices. Won't be scalper prices...eventually, it won't be scalpers. At the end of the day, it's a card game. For children. 95% of the cards are not worth anything. This behavior is unbecoming of an adult. And so is buying from someone like them. Shameful.
