How to tie ONE HANDED Truckies Hitch

Sometimes if you need to hold on to something or may be injured, you may need to tie the Truckies or Truckers hitch one handed. Here is how.

My dad uses a knot to tie down lumber loads that I’ve been looking to put a proper name to for YEARS but have never been able to find…. This is the one!! He learned it in the 70’s and says it’s the best knot around, yet even he says he rarely ever sees people using it.

Hi John,
Did you have an injury on one hand at some time or do you just practice to see if you can do knots one handed?
It's bloody brilliant mate and makes me smile and determined to have a go. It's got to the stage now that the wife see's me with a bit of rope and she says " oh John the pom is going to play in the garden" The other saying that she comes out with is " well well I don't hear that man swearing when he tied a knot" Your giving her as much fun as me.
