If you want to do it on a bigger scale that doesn't take up fridge space give this idea a shot. Five gallon buckets, drill some hole for drainage and if you are worried about seeds dropping through, put a piece of screen or mesh it the bottom. Put your sand and seed mix in the buckets and put them outside over the winter. If you live in a wet area, the rain and snow should be enough to keep them wet. If you live in a drier area, check regularly and wet as needed. Early spring (before they start germinating), grab a bucket and a hand shovel and start walking and tossing where you want them. I do this on a much smaller scale with gallon jugs for my winter sowing...

I am using the plastic gallon milk carton method and keep them outside. Works well and no need to check every few days. Love all your info brother!!

Please recommend some literature for the AL folks. What’s native, forests, grasslands and such. Really appreciate the work you are doing. Need some reading/learning over here. Thanks a bunch.

I love your work. Do you have any good idea for places to learn about native plants in my area?

Could this work for fruit tree seeds that also need the frozen ground?

I hope you use those or sell those native seeds to be used ONLY in the regions they are native to.

You can add cinnamon to the sand to help keep the mold down
