I love my TSL 602 Marshall. It was my first Marshall amp. However, after some time with it the 'honeymoon' faded. So I started on a quest on a 'tone-chase' with swapping out speakers and pre-amp tubes. In the end I upgraded the cheap-ass cheesy puny transformers to Mercury Magnetics 'Axiom' line of transformer and a proper choke, NOS RCA, JAN Phillips, and Telefunken pre-amp tubes and scrapped the combo and tuned it into a head with a hand-made birch plywood cabinet that I built. Now I REALLY love my TSL as I have three 4X12 cabinets to choose from. It sounds best on my EVH 5150 4X12 cabinet with the EVH 'greenback' Celestions. An outstanding rig to say the least. I have one and I love it. I find it works very well with twin humbuckers and you get that classic rock tone. These amps are heavy. I had a JCM 900 head and half stack cab 20 years ago but I prefer this amp. It's got real balls. Lovely tone you got in this video.

I have this amp too. I added a choke and a mercury magnetics transformer. I love it.

I'm thinking to buy Marshall JCM 2000 TSL 602 COMBO at home in an apartment . I already have homemade valve amplifier 45 watt (with switch to 10 watt) with 12" Vintage 30 speaker, based peavey classic 30 (but with one channel and without reverb). And it's ok sound on apartment. At what volume reveals this combo (JCM2000 tsl 602)? Half volume? Or i can switch to 2-3 and it will be sound good? This combo may sound thin like Yngwie Malmsteen sound, or it's thick closer in sound VOX?
